Old Montauk Highway
Montauk
On this property sat the second home ever built in the town of Montauk. When the owner renovated the home he wished to preserve the design of the original structure and wanted the exterior hardscapes to compliment it. To achieve this we built a patio consisting of multi-color irregularly shaped bluestones with concrete joints. The aprons of the driveway have the same stone that are dinner plate sized with a 4' tall retaining wall of Cambridge Sigma dry stack stone. The staircase, retaining wall, and foundation on the west side of the home are veneered in Pennsylvania multi-colored wallstone with stair treads done with 2" thermal bluestone. The backyard flight of steps are comprised of large natural multi-color bluestone slabs, roughly 6' x 3' x 8" giving a rugged, natural feel to the landscape.
The 14' x 60' gunite pool has a separate 6' x 12' spa inside the pool rectangle with its own automatic Grando cover. The client wished to have the capacity to train for competitive swimming so the pool contains dual deep ends in which a swimmer can push off the walls and comfortably somersault when changing directions.

A 14' x 60' gunite pool is fnished with a sleek NPT quartzscape St. Martin shade finish. The pool is enveloped by a 2" natural cleft of Blue Ice coping
A separate 6' x 12' spa is encased inside the pool rectangle with its own automatic Grando cover. The spa is flanked by wide rectangular corner stairs for easy access in and out of the hot tub.

There is a 7' wide 6' deep end next to the spa to complete a swim lane that runs the length of the pool.

Driveway
This driveway had to be built through a field of bamboo. The double sided aprons of the driveway consist of dinner plate sized multi-color irregular shaped bluestones. The driveway aprons help retain the ⅜" crushed bluestone that covers the 20 degree sloped driveway. A 4" tall retaining wall was built at the base of the driveway which is constructed with Cambridge Sigma dry stack stone.
Two seperate state of the art Covertech - Grando Covers were installed, one for the pool and one for the spa.

Automatic pool covers help keep the pool chemistry in balance since pools lose chemicals through evaporation. An automatic cover seals the water in reducing chemical loss by up to 70%. Automatic pool covers also reduce the amount of energy needed for the filtration of the pool.
